THE HOUSE
Stangate House is a 1940s heritage home set within four acres of private garden in the Adelaide Hills village of Aldgate.
Your stay is intimate and self-contained; a master bedroom with private ensuite, your own kitchen and dining space, and the full run of the garden beyond your door.
This is a house that feels lived-in in the best sense. The rooms hold the quiet warmth of mid-century design; generous proportions, deep windows, soft natural light; and have been gently curated for stays that are slow and considered.
The master bedroom is the heart of the stay. A king-size bed dressed in beautiful linens, a private ensuite, and a deep stillness you don't often find. In the morning, the light arrives unhurried; in the evening, it fades into birdsong.
Beyond the bedroom are a guest kitchen, dining and living area all a step away from the lawns and trees. The kitchen is fully equipped for breakfasts, light meals, and unhurried evenings in.

Summer
The garden is green and full. The lawns are at their best, the oaks and cedars cast deep shade, and the creek runs cool. A season for slow afternoons on the verandah.

Autumn
The deciduous trees turn through ochre, rust, and gold. The first early camellias begin to flower. Crisp mornings, soft afternoons, and the kind of light photographers travel for.

Winter
The camellias come into their own; flowering across the garden in pinks, whites, and reds. Frost on the lawns, woodsmoke in the air, and a stillness that's hard to find anywhere else.

Spring
The garden's most dramatic season. Wisteria flowers heavily along the walkway, the late camellias overlap with the first azaleas and rhododendrons, and the deciduous trees come back into leaf. Long, bright days and cool mornings.
